Dr Kareem Salhiyyah is a fully trained UK consultant cardiothoracic surgeon with nearly 20 years experience working with distinguished surgeons in prestigious centres.
 
He is a Member and a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh in cardiothoracic surgery. He received the highly demanding certificate of completion of training (CCT) and he is on the Consultant  Specialist Register in the UK.  In addition he has big academic interest; he was awarded a PhD from the prestigious Imperial College London for his research with Prof Sir Magdi Yacoub on Cardiac Cellular Biology.
 
Dr Kareem Salhiyyah competently performs the majority of cardiac surgical cases such as coronary and valve surgery and combined procedures. He is also performs complex, redo surgery and high risk surgery with excellent outcome.

Dr Salhiyyah also has particular interest in mitral valve repair surgery and he was trained with prominent world experts. He was trained in Belgium in one of leading units in the world on minimally invasive totally endoscopic mitral valve surgery.

He strongly believes that cardiac surgery saves lives, improves patients’ outcomes and quality of life. He is particularly interested in helping the older patients.  He believes that every patient deserves the best possible chance for best treatment.
